Permanent residence on other grounds
Polish law provides for a number of special grounds for obtaining permanent residence beyond the standard paths. If your situation is non-standard, that doesn't mean the path to permanent residence is closed to you. We'll conduct an individual analysis and find the optimal solution.

Key requirements
- Refugee status, subsidiary protection, or zgoda humanitarna — after 5 years of continuous stay
- Spouse of a Polish citizen: at least 3 years of marriage and 2 years of continuous stay in Poland on a card issued in connection with that marriage
- A minor child of a Polish citizen, or a child of a permanent-residence / EU long-term resident status holder
- Holders of pobyt tolerowany (after 10 years), victims of human trafficking, persons granted asylum
- Other grounds provided for in art. 195 ustawy o cudzoziemcach

Electronic filing via MOS
From 27 April 2026, applications are filed only online through the MOS system (mos.cudzoziemcy.gov.pl) with a profil zaufany signature. We prepare the application and go through the filing together with you; you visit the office only once — for biometrics by appointment.

We track the progress of the review, keep documents up to date, respond promptly to requests from the authorities, and keep you informed through the platform.

Obtaining the Karta Pobytu
We notify you of a positive decision and advise on the next steps toward obtaining citizenship.
Documents for application
The basic document package differs significantly depending on the grounds for permanent residence. The full set depends on your situation: the grounds for filing, marital status, your residence history and continuity, place of residence, and other factors. On average, we prepare a package of 15–30 document types, taking into account all the specifics of the particular case.
